Exterior coatings systems are comprised of specialized coatings that:
- Prevent mildew and fungus
- Protect from insects and parasites
- Reduce tannin and sap migration to the surface
- Expand and contract with the natural movement of the wood
- Protect the wood from UV and moisture
- Contain colorants that resist fading
- Provide excellent aesthetics that beautify the wood
The complete system provides durability against weather damage while creating a look comparable with indoor industrial wood finishes.
Accessa is pleased to carry a variety of solvent-based and water-based coatings formulated for exterior exposures, from architectural and furniture applications to yachts. These products are available from such Accessa vendors as AcromaPro and ICA.
AcromaPro’s Laqvin Clear
AcromaPro’s Laqvin™ Clear is a one pack water-borne clear lacquer for exterior applications such as joinery, exterior doors, window frames and furniture. It is designed to resist outdoor weather conditions including UV lights, rain and temperature variation. Laqvin™ Clear is available at different standard sheens. It offers excellent clarity, stain resistance, color stability, fast drying, good flow properties combined with the aesthetic of solvent-borne coatings. A portion of stain must be added. This high solids product is formaldehyde free and HAPS Free.
ICA’s FP258
ICA’s FP258 is an opaque (white), self-sealing polyurethane coating for exterior woodwork. The ICA FP258 has good hiding power and elasticity.
ICA’s LP157I
ICA’s LP157I is a transparent polyurethane coating with good covering power, excellent distension, good elasticity, fast drying, particularly indicated for matt top coats on frames and shutters, doors, etc; by spray and by vertical spray application.
ICA’s LP157MUVE
ICA’s LP157MUVE is a transparent polyurethane matte topcoat with good covering, excellent distension, good elasticity, quick drying, particularly suitable for matt finishes on frames and shutters, doors, etc. by spray application (horizontal and vertical). The addition of special UV absorbers gives the coated object a longer duration to outdoor elements.
ICA’s LA310GxxUVE
ICA’s LA310GxxUVE is an economical, user-friendly, transparent monocomponent water-based topcoat with good distension, body, remarkable elasticity and exterior resistance.
ICA’s ARBOREA Range of Water-Based Coatings for Exterior
The use of water-based coatings on exterior wood products is now commonplace, thanks to the numerous advantages such coatings provide: reduced emissions of solvents into the atmosphere, short application times, excellent elasticity of the coating film and resistance to temperature changes and atmospheric agents, maximum coatability adn absence of any risk of self-combustion on the part of the spray fumes.
Today, the ARBOREA Range represents the perfect combination of rock-solid protection and long-lasting beauty. The products in the ARBOREA Range provide high-levels of quality because they:
– contain pigments and UV filters that protect the wooden surface and impede the yellowing and vitrification of the coating film.
– undergo strict internal laboratory testing, not just during the experimental phase but also through subsequent sampling of individual batches, to ensure consistency of production.
– are also tested to external bodies in accordance with stringent regulatory frameworks relating to the classification of exterior coating products.
